Boyd rose. Great chef and amazing food.
Yes and same owners
The shrimp and grits were amazing and so was the fried chicken.Skip the pimento cheese dip. The crackers were amazing but the dip was a little to heavy for me. The flavor was too bold... That's a lot coming from me. I love bold foods but not this one.The service was on point and the bar was beautiful. Actually the entire place was designed well.Great outdoor seating area.
Southern comfort food at it's best. The chef's specialty (Chef Boyd's Southern Fried Chicken) was delicious. I also tried the fried green tomatoes stuffed with pimento cheese. I’ve never had fried green tomatoes before but was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent. Make reservations ahead of time. There was a 2 hour wait when I went. Luckily we found a spot at the bar and didn't have to wait two hours.
We have been twice now and loved it both times. Service is always quick. The cocktails are delicious. Get the fresh pita and hot pimento cheese dip! Lunch specials are very reasonable for price.
Food here is fantastic, located in kind of a low key area but that makes it even better. We ordered the pimento cheese dip and fried green tomatoes. Cheese dip was fantastic but the fried tomatoes were lacking the tomato part, overpowered by the cheese and batter they were fried in. Our table ordered the meatloaf, shrimp and grits, and the pork chop. Pork chop was cooked a little over medium rare but not bad and the blue cheese sauce on top was excellent. No complaints from any of the other dishes. Margarita and drinks were good as well.
On the outside of this place it does not look like much because it is in a strip shopping center, but inside it is gorgeous. Lots of stained wood and glass and old antique light fixtures. The lighting was pretty good, slightly darker than it felt like it should be. The menu had good balance, although slightly overpriced (4 U10/12 scallops $34) but the quality of the food was fantastic. Definitely ordered the pork belly appetizer to start, you will not regret it.
We had a group of 5 and had the fried green tomatoes, deviled eggs, crab bisque, crab cake, fried chicken, shrimp and grits, strip steak special, and medallions along with several specialty drinks. All of the dishes along with the service was excellent. Great atmosphere too!
I went her for a corporate event. It was. FANTASTIC. Service was great.Fried chicken was recommended and it was great. Great service, amazing food....Well worth stopping in for.
This place is my favored. I go to a lot of restaurants but here I go the most. The team is very helpful and the cooking they place on your table is so delicious. I am always happy to have a good dinner here. I highly recommend this place.
My friend and I celebrated our birthdays here and not only was the food delicious but we had the cutest and most enjoyable server. His name was Sebastian and it’s always amazing when your server loves people and genuinely like what they do because they are more engaging and make your experience memorable when they do. He was adorable and went out of his way to make us comfortable and feel attended to. He was like this with everyone around us and I could see everyone else was also feeling pampered and cared for. He’s a gem.
Went for my wife’s birthday. Service and food was exceptional. Can recommend the crab bisque, fried chicken, bourbon shrimp, and bourbon old fashioned!
Worth the trip for sure! Amazing food and excellent staff. You wont be disappointed!
It was a nice calm day in Alpharetta. The sun was shining and the food gods blessed with the opportunity to visit this wonderful restaurant. That Fried Chicken with the Jalapeno gravy is a dish every person should try. Please if you are reading this review. Get the damn chicken you will not be disappointed.
Food was good, but the owner was extremely rude!
The service is ok. Plenty of seats inside and outside but they only offered us the bar. I requested a seat outside. The waitress brought the wrong dinner out but quickly replaced it with the correct item however if she had written down the order in the first place it would never had been returned. Some of the food was good, some of it seemed like they were trying to be creative for creativity sake. You could not taste the tomatoes in the fried green tomatoes. The pimento and strawberry jalapeño jams over powered any other flavors. The shrimp and grits were good. The grits were fantastic however the subtle sweetness of the shrimp was over powered by bacon. The scallops and risotto was phenomenal but missing the red wine honey sauce listed in the menu. The risotto was incredibly fresh and surprisingly light for a risotto. The lemon basil shrimp was grilled to perfection. Overall it wasn't particularly memorable and wouldn't be the first place I'd think to go for a night out.
Not our first time there...There's nothing like it. We took our friends there for a birthday dinner and they absolutely loved everything!! Our server Sebastian was excellent. Always on point with his timing and extras. The owner/chef Boyd made time to check on us and explain the menu. Great place.and worth the price $$$.
This place rocks. The food is absolutely amazing. Portion size is better than most. We shared four entrees. Fried Chicken, Pork chops, salmon and scallops. Every dish prepared exceeded our expectation. We ended the night with the carrot cake and boy let me tell ya! That carrot cake will make you go crazy. The ambience is nice, the people are friendly and I've already told you the food is STUPID GOOD! Sebastian took care of us at the table and Paulo (co-owner) really made our experience worthwhile. We happened to stumble upon this place and what a diamond in the rough. You should definitely go check it out. Tell em Drew sent ya! ~Drew✌🏾️
Normally I visit this place only during lunch hours, specifically for the burger. Honestly, it is one of the best burgers around and I always get the exact same thing...it it THAT good! LOL! Nice environment, upscale decor, and not too far from home. Give it a shot. Well worth it!
Every food I have tried here has been extraordinary. The lamb belly may have been the best, but the portions were small. They did not skimp on the shrimp and grits or the fried chicken, though. Was pleased that the shrimp were de-tailed, as that's always annoying to deal with on other versions. Service was fast and friendly, the environment was great and there was plenty of parking, whatever, but the star is the FOOD. There were flavor combinations I hadn't tasted before.
Visited for lunch on a weekday. Good food and good service.
Great food, great service! The fried chicken with Jalapeno gravy is probably one of the best things I have ever eaten!! Also had the Shrimp and Grits!! Mann, they know what they are doing at Secreto!!
Hidden gem. Friendly, very classy. Get there early or prepare to wait a bit, but it is well worth it. Try the bang bang shrimp appetizer. The medallion steak is great and the Chicken with Jalapeno and bacon is delicious.
I really loved the experience at the restaurant. Can I say the Chef was A+++++. He came to the table and greeted us and was Very engaging. He brought us a sample of his collard greens that were FABULOUS. Our waiter was a bit over the top for me and I felt he was putting on a show for us because when I heard him talking to other patrons he wasn't as animated. I loved the appetizers. The warm pimento cheese dip and the fried green tomatoes with Pimento cheese were AWESOME. Can't you tell I love pimento cheese. I had the shrimp and grits and it was a small miss only because it needed a tad bit more seasoning. What really capped my night was dessert. I live an hour and a half away and I will drive back to Secretos for the Warm Carrot Cake. OMG, I don't think I have words to describe the cake. It was like a party in my mouth. the sauce on top and the berries were not needed but they were great. the cake was the winner, winner. It is certainly worth a visit.
SAVE THE CORNBREAD!! Please visit Secreto. They need our help to stay open. Their food is fantastic and it's a great hidden gem on Windward Parkway tucked away near Starbucks and Union Hill Road. All of the food is fantastic, but the cornbread you ask? OMG! It was like dessert! I call it corn cake! Their wait staff are so attentive and make it such a pleasant experience. Please make a reservation or stop in anytime. We need these small businesses to survive!
The service here has always been great - unfilled water glasses are filled fast and they seem to have multiple staff members checking on tables, in addition to the main server. Food is great and portions are large.
I prefer this place very much. It has a happy feeling. The cuisine is wonderful. the service is powerful and the personel is polite. The pay is modest. I highly recommend.
It's so gorgeous! However, the menu (for someone who doesn't eat chicken) and food are just a little bit of a let-down in both perceived value and taste. I tried it more than once just to ensure I wasn't there an off-day / night; same conclusion. There are so many great options in Avalon and this area of Alpharetta, this would not hit my list if making recommendations. Such an awesome location, I'd love to see them step up!
The food here was excellent and everyone's meal was cooked to near perfection. I got the one with the jumbo shrimp and the shrimp were excellent the rest of the mail that came with it was pretty decent. I did have almost buyers remorse after seeing some of the other things there. The appetizers were divine and frankly I could have eaten just those. And the dessert was pretty good too even though I typically don't get dessert. The service I have to say was top notch. Our server was very attentive, very friendly, and regularly checked in on us. Despite the fact he had a two big groups to manage. If I lived here I would definitely be coming back!
First time, definitely going back. The staff and food was so good.
Great food!! The southern fried chicken is second to none! Everyone in our group raved about their meal - even the 2peat, 3peat folks to Secreto raved like first timers (like myself). Decent wine selection and the creme brulee and carrot cake - perfect!!
Perfect atmosphere. Great food and service. My new favorite when I'm on this side of Atlanta. (boom boom shrimp and fried chicken are a must have)
Oh my stars! If you're looking for a good place for shrimp & grits, I can't recommend it enough!! I got my order to go but everyone was very helpful and friendly and the atmosphere was great! I would eat here all the time if I were a local! The flavors in the shrimp & grits were out of this world!! I highly recommend it!!
